Philip Alan Walker, widely known as Alan Walker, is a skilled DJ and producer who was born on August 24, 1997, in Northampton, England. However, at the age of two, his parents relocated to Bergen, Norway for work purposes. Alan developed a deep interest in music after discovering renowned producers such as K-391 and Ahrix. He dedicated countless hours to watching their videos on YouTube, and he also closely followed the work of composers Steve Jablonsky and Hans Zimmer. Fuelled by his passion, Alan started creating his own music using only his laptop and adopted the pseudonym DJ Walkzz.

During his early stages as a musician, Alan unintentionally gained immense popularity with his composition titled “Fade” in 2014. It was initially released online by mistake, but to his surprise, it was warmly embraced by the public, gaining significant recognition on the YouTube channel of the record label NoCopyrightSounds (NCS). This unexpected success led Alan Walker to sign a contract with NCS. A year later, in 2015, he released the songs “Spectre” and “Force.”

Alan’s breakthrough moment came when he signed with the renowned Sony Music Entertainment (SME) in the same year. Together with SME, he released a remastered version of “Fade” titled “Faded.” The song featured the vocal talents of Iselin Solheim and also included an instrumental version. “Faded” quickly climbed the European charts, earning over 2 billion views on YouTube and solidifying Alan’s position as a popular musician.

Continuing his momentum, Alan Walker released the acoustic version of “Faded” called “Faded (Restrung).” He then collaborated with Iselin Solheim again on the track “Sing Me to Sleep,” accompanied by an instrumental version. Subsequently, Alan released three successful remixes: one for Coldplay’s “Hymn for the Weekend,” another for Cash Cash & Digital Farm Animals’ “Millionaire” featuring Nelly, and the final one for Sia’s “Move Your Body.”

In 2016, Alan Walker delighted his fans with a new single called “Alone,” featuring Noonie Bao. He also released an instrumental remix version and an acoustic version titled “Alone (Restrung).” The year 2017 saw a decline in the production of new music from Alan Walker, with only the release of his single “Tired,” which featured the voice of Irish singer Gavin James. However, the song was later remixed by Kygo.

Alan Walker has greatly contributed to various subgenres of electronic music, including EDM, Progressive House, and Drum & Bass. His unique style and captivating melodies have garnered a global following. He has performances lined up in Japan, South Korea, and other neighboring areas, proving his ever-growing influence in the music industry. In 2018, he embarked on multiple tours in Europe and Asia, captivating audiences all around the world.
